Lifehacker as ever has a great post on backing up your google docs, email, notes calendar. As more and more of my digital life is in the custody o the big G, I have felt the need to get backed up, just in case.
I have always redirected my mail, so i have a local copy on my PC and also on my backup drive. Its a simple idea. Just set up a forwarder on your domain i.e. nick at nickgarner.co.uk and forward a copy to Googlemail. easy.

and for google notebook, there is an export option in tools thats sends data to google docs and from there you can locally back it up, alternatively, you can take out a step, by saving the notebook as a html page, and then save the page locally.
